A recent study showed workers with alcohol problems were 2.7 times more likely than workers without such problems to have injury-related absences, and an estimated 70 percent of the 14.8 million Americans who use illegal drugs are employed. These statistics can mean more accidents, higher medical claims expenses, unhealthy employees, unsafe working conditions, loss of productivity, and smaller profits.
