Counselor
Sara is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Pennsylvania. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology and English Literature from the University of Pittsburgh and graduated from Walden University with a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CAADC) with a proficiency in Gambling Addiction. Sara has worked predominantly in the addiction field for almost two decades where she gained a wealth of experience with regards to substance use disorders, gambling disorders, trauma, stress management/anxiety, self-esteem issues, healthy relationships, codependency, grief and loss, and depression. Sara approaches counseling utilizing a variety of theoretical orientations such as Solution-Focused, Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Therapy. She enjoys utilizing the Jungian approach to dream interpretation and believes in a strength-based approach which promotes individual strengths rather than focusing on a diagnosis. She is dedicated to working with those with trauma and is in progress to completing Drexel’s BHE Trauma Certification.
